Something about this combination makes me think of dads in pleated dress khakis or even safari attire. Like the old school 1920s khaki jodhpur pants and jackets designed for posh Brits visiting the African bush. Or maybe I’m thinking of the oft-caricatured, mustache-twirling “movie director” attire with the khaki clothing and the French beret. Do you know who I’m talking about?
Khaki digressions aside, the fall season is here now so I’m making a giant leap from technicolor neons to the more neutral palette of beige and ivory and silver. Scroll all the way down for the budget-friendly outfit details/links. The skirt alone is under $20!
Plus I wanted to show off the custom-designed “BOSS LADY” ring that Thomas Hewn made for me. If you’re not familiar with his work, check out his Instagram. He works mostly on commission and his designs incorporate some really luscious raw materials like metal and leather and stone. He didn’t make my raw geode necklace, but his aesthetic is similar.
