Happy March, boss ladies!
I couldn’t resist bringing this faux fur jacket by Bershka into the mix because I got it on sale on eBay and it’s a deep, moody emerald green — perfect for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day festivities. Make way for the green beer, shamrock milkshakes, pots of gold and leprechauns! Xavier recently took me to see Wicked at the Pantages Theater here in Los Angeles, so the timing seems appropriate, what with all the green-faced witches, yellow brick roads, rainbows and emerald cities.
I also got very lucky with my $135 footwear splurge of the season: these fantastic equestrian boots by Calvin Klein!
As you’ve probably noticed from other photos, I’m a bit curvy and I’ve got some pretty muscular 16″ calves. I inherited them from my father and this combined with my height (5’4″ is not quite leprechaun status, I’ll admit) has always made finding knee high and over-the-knee boots a major challenge. You ladies with muscular calves know that this struggle is real, because most regular boot circumferences measure no larger than 14″ and I personally need closer to 17″ to even get the damn things above my ankles.
It must be all the rainbows that I’ve recently encountered, because I’m super pleased to report that these boots (in the wide calf version, of course) fit like a dream!!
